Alessandra Scandella is an illustrator based in Milan working for advertising and publishing projects. She co-founded the Studio Container, in Milan, which deals with illustration, graphic design, web design and animation. She works with watercolor and indian inks, using cotton paper and preffering natural pigments. Alessandra works with the major editorial clients in Italy, such as Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, Il Venerdì, Domus, Bompiani, Mondadori, Il Sole 24ORE, Marsilio. She’s teaching at IED, Istituto Europeo di Design, and International School of Comics, in Milan. She as just finished to paint the watercolor illustrations for the San Pellegrino Reservation Book 2023, about the best restaurants and cooking in Italy. Alessandra’s watercolors were exhibited in Il Vocabolario della moda italiana, at the Triennale di Milano, and Illustri Festival at the Gallerie d’Italia in Milan, with the best illustrators in Italy. She has illustrated the Atlante dei paesi fantasma, for Marsilio, about the recostruction of abandoned villages in Italy. Working with Studio Container, she has drawned the illustrations for an exhibition in Milan entitled Outfit ‘900, at Palazzo Morando, about fashion. She took part of Across Europe With Best Fashion Illustration, an exhibition in Poland with the best fashion illustrators in Europe. Alessandra illustrated Frida Vestida, a fashion book about Frida Kahlo icon of style, that appeared in Mudec Museum of Culture, in Milan, during Frida Kahlo exhibition. Among her clients: Tod’s, Bulgari and Lavazza, for which she illustrated the Calendar with Steve McCurry’s photos. Her latest projects are watercolor and ink animations, for example for Bulgari and Bocconi University, and big size illustrations for design and wallpapers.
