WHAT TO EXPECT
Session 1: Self-Assessment (1 hour)
In this session you'll do most of the talking. Fully understanding what you've done to-date, your goals, challenges and what's going well will allow us to tailor recommendations to you. Walk us through your portfolio, social media and advertising efforts, if any. Tell us about your most successful images and projects. Anything you can think of that will help us help you – we want to hear it!
Session 2: Positioning & Promoting Your Work (1.5 hours)
Learn how and where to sell your work. We'll give feedback on your portfolio, website and social media efforts; how best to promote your work; opportune markets to pursue, and how your work stands up next to competition in the market. We'll discuss how to leverage tools like Google Analytics and CRM platforms to strengthen your online presence and marketing efforts.
Session 3: Business Need-To-Knows (1 hour)
This session will focus on practical guidance when it comes to pricing your work for different markets; understanding contracts; how to find clients and build client relationships; managing client expectations from the beginning to end of an assignment; and the pros and cons of having an agent.
Session 4: Meet With an Illustration Agent
Our agent partners are industry leaders, representing top illustrators across Editorial, Book Publishing, Advertising, Packaging and Toys & Games. You'll meet with an agent who specializes in a category compatible with your style and goals to provide feedback on your portfolio, how to best position your work and, if applicable, discuss the possibility of representation.
