Melinda Beck

Melinda Beck is an illustrator, animator, and graphic designer. Over her quarter century in the business she has had the pleasure of working for such clients as: Harper’s Magazine, The New York Public Library, Nickelodeon, Nike, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Random House, Southern Poverty Law Center, Target, Time Magazine and the United States Postal Service. She has received numerous awards including two Emmy nominations and medals from the Society of Illustrators. A series of her prints was acquired by the Library of Congress for their permanent collection. Political art has always been important to her, in 2018 she was included in three political art exhibitions: Drawn to Purpose: American Women Illustrators and Cartoonists at the Library of congress, Art As Witness: Political Graphics at the School of Visual arts and Illustration: Women Making A Mark at the University of Indianapolis. Melinda served as the vice president of ICON9, the Illustration Conference, has taught at Parsons School of design, and been a visiting lecturer at a variety of institutions around the globe. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design and is based in New York City where she lives with her two teenage daughters. (MORE...)
